Training Sessions

We run training sessions below. Once we have your details, you can sign up for the sessions via Google Sheet sign-up lists. If you are interested in applying please complete the application form. If you want to find out more first, or send us a message using general enquiries. You can check the calendar to check if sessions are running on a particular day, and any time changes.

Farnborough Volleyball Club is happy to welcome new players (yr 7+ only) to our technical/beginner sessions. If you or your child are interested in learning to play volleyball, we have two sessions run at The Samuel Cody Sports College Farnborough, run by an experienced, UKCC-qualified coach.

  • New player/beginner session Tuesdays from 5-6:30pm.

  • Intermediate/advanced beginner sessions Tuesdays from 6:30-8pm and Fridays 6-7pm

Players will have the opportunity to go through technical aspects of volleyball, focusing on the elements that are necessary to start to play, and improve at this exciting sport.

General training for Adults (18+)

This is aimed at adults 18+ who already play a bit and are aiming to improve their game. There are drills and exercises to beef up specific skills and exercise as well as a strong emphasis on playing to bed these in.

The normal time for this session is Wednesdays, 8-10pm. Check the calendar.

If you are a complete beginner, you may be out of your depth -  consider the FVC academy.

The club has a thriving ladies section, with ladies and mixed teams, and this training session aims to build up the individual skills and improve the team cohesion and cooperation session for ladies.

This training session is held on Friday evenings, normal time 7-9pm, but check the calendar. The sessions are lively and friendly.​

Pio Kubaty

This is held indoors on Monday evenings, throughout the year, with the aim of building up the team players and sharpening their skills.

 

Sessions consist of drills and exercises to improve basic skills, positions on the court and prepare teams for playing better.

 

There is frequently also time for games, “king of the court” or a six a side game to round things off depending on numbers.

Summer Outdoor Sessions

During the Summer season, we like to head outdoors and play volleyball games on the grass in the evenings.

These sessions start from the end of May and go through until School terms start in September.

They are held on Wednesdays from 6pm until sundown and Sundays 2pm until we run out of energy. All are welcome and there are no restrictions on age or ability - come along and see how you go.

These sessions are a great way to meet the club on a casual basis and have a go at playing with us.
